Fain
Co-Founder of Price Public School, Alexander Fain (along with Jordan Netherland, Albert Jones, and Nathaniel Mitchell) bought the land and built the two-room log cabin dedicated to educating the African American children of Rogersville

Franklin
For 10 years, Reverend William H. Franklin, the founder and president of Swift Memorial College, held classes at St. Marks Presbyterian Church where he served as pastor. In 1893, the school’s first dedicated building was named for the Rev. Elijah E. Swift

The Swift Museum mission is to collect, preserve, and present the past for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations.
Alumni Narratives
The legacy of Swift Memorial College lives on through its students. Over 20 video and audio recording have been collected featuring the anecdotes, recollections and narratives of the proud graduates of Swift College.
School Program
The museum brings the classroom experience to life by offering an alternative learning experience for 5th grade students; giving them the chance to participate in hands-on activities to connect and explore African American history, culture and diversity.
Living Archives
The community of Rogersville collaborated on a communal scrapbook of Swift memorabilia. This living archive is an ongoing work-in progress to uncover and honor the legacy of the school and its students.
